Day 18: Colosseum Day

Luca: That is me and Nico watching a student named Chase play Pokemon Go.
Nico: We were at a gym area, where you can fight some Pokemon against the pokemon you have. He was playing Spearow, Zubat and Squirtle.

Nico: That is the entrance to the Colosseum. The Colosseum is way long ago when people called Gladiators used to fight animals and other gladiators.
Luca: They mostly had cats, but also ostriches and elephants were there.

Luca: That is the outside of the Colosseum. The Colosseum was actually a little bit dirty.
Nico: Don't worry if that picture looks pretty bad, because I took that picture. Mom and Dad took pictures that look way better, it's just that me and Luca didn't want to spread out too far.
Nico: That is where the gladiators used to fight. At the edge you can see a little field, all the rest used to be like that except it fell down. The part that is still there is now just for people to jump around and play. We couldn't get tickets to get on there.
Luca: In the olden times, the arena would be a lot less pleasant. It would be louder and there would be blood there.
Nico: And there would be sand there.

Luca: That is mostly just a picture of Nico looking at the arena and I'm the other guy with the hat.
Nico: Luca is the guy that's lower because dad's picking me up and showing me something. That's his giant arm, don't think it's mine in a different sleeve.
Nico: That is Luca sitting on a bench at the Colosseum. As you can see, the Colosseum is pretty broken.
Luca: I'm not sitting down there for a picture. I was resting because there was a lot of walking.

Luca: That is Nico slamming a gate next to him at the Colosseum.
Nico: And also I was pretending to be a gladiator. I was trying to make it look like I was holding a sword behind my back but it didn't come out so good.
Luca: I don't think Gladiators took pictures.

Nico: That is the Forum. The Forum is a big wall that has ancient pictures of it.
Luca: The Forum is a place right next to the Colosseum. You can see a very beautiful view.

Luca: That is a church or something. I'll just call it a building.
Nico: That is a building that was behind the tourguide. We stopped so she could tell us about the forum. She said it was more like a temple.

Nico: That is what we ate. We ate with two of the teachers--one's name is Hamed (we told you about him earlier) and the other one is named Theresa. We got mini sandwiches. I got one with cheese and Luca got anchovies and capers.
Luca: That sandwich was so good that I decided to get another one.
Nico: I got another one too but a different type because there was something in mine that tasted like chili peppers.

No Pictures
Luca: That night, we had a student named Chase as our babysitter. We told you about him earlier.
Nico: Our babysitter Emma was supposed to come over except she was sick so she couldn't come.
Luca: That day was very fun.
