Luca "Talking" To His Parents

If you listen very closely with the motivated ears of new parents, you can almost hear the beginning of a primitive baby language.

And he talks to Mommy as well...

Luca and Chloe

Luca and Chloe had such a wonderful time together in Miami!
Here is their first meeting---clearly, the only happy one is Grandma:

After a few minutes of fearful observation, Chloe decided that Luca was "dog-dog" (video to come soon...). Soon, she began to pet her dog-dog:

Sometimes Luca would be less than enthusiastic about being pet like a dog:

But, by our final night, Chloe was giving Lovey to Luca and lots of kisses which he loved!

Weeks 5-6: Meeting the Williams Girls

On Sunday, my mother threw a bunch to honor Ana and Taylor, the newlyweds. But the ulterior motive was to introduce Luca to all of my friends! Here is Luca with the guest of honor (Ana)

The new parents with the newlyweds (Ana and Taylor)

Luca also met his new friend Trevor (8 months), son of Joel and Jill:

I couldn't imagine Jill and me being mommies back in our Williams days...

Luca and Melissa, he loved her too!

We all agreed that Marksy had a certain maternal quality loved by Luca

Weeks 5-6: Meeting the Family

One of the best parts of the trip to Miami was Luca's introduction to many important family members---

Here he is with his Uncle Joe who came from California to see him. Luca had never seen such a tall man before! As you can see, he was quite impressed.

But, the person he loved the most was his cousin Jules. He spent the entire week flirting with her--she got the most smiles and coos out of anyone from him.

Of course, he charmed his Tai-Po (great grandma)

The night before we left, he was very sad to say goodbye to her:

Weeks 5-6: Airplane Flying

Luca flew on his first airplane trip to Miami this week--he did beautifully! Hardly any crying at all!

Here he is on the redeye over. Slept thru takeoff and landing...

On the return trip, he hung out the whole time without crying... dad made a nice bed for him in his lap:

Once we landed and were at baggage claim, he showed us how happy he was to be home!

Week 4 - Smiles and Dr. H

This week, Luca finally started smiling A LOT!

He loves to smile, especially when he is nudey!

Luca made a visit to see our (and his) OB Dr. Hasselquist and show her how much he's grown since he was born...her nurse shares the same birthday as Luca.

Luca's Week 3

Well, we've survived the first 4.5 days without any grandparent support! Luca has been very good this week, not fussy at all, eating and sleeping well. We're close to getting a nanny, with a few promising options. This week, Luca will meet his new doctor on Wednesday (Dr. Dudas), and we will start getting ready for our trip to Miami on the 15th.
Other than that, it's been fun hanging out at home this week.

Saturday morning hanging out in bed---who is the best daddy ever?

And, mom has figured out how to use the sling so that I can walk around and get things done with Luca...
