another no picture post

I am loving the quiet in the home right now as all 3 boys are asleep! Nico is on top of me so no pictures til later...

Some highlights/memories:

NICO
-Nico is getting very cute and smiley. His best times are about 6:30-8 am, when he wakes up and wants to play, and about 8-9 pm when he hangs out with us after big brother goes to bed. He is very conversational and makes lots of different sounds to let us know how he feels.
- About 12 lbs now, and apparently 24 inches (which I'm convinced is measurement error). If it is true, he is in the 95ish percentile for height.
- I have gotten a few good pictures of his dimples/smile, but we are desperately trying to document his pre-cry pout, which is the cutest thing you've ever seen. nico also does an awesome "shock-eye"
- Also is the loudest sleeper ever (as in louder than his grandpas). He snorts, snores and grunts like an old man when he sleeps.

LUCA & NICO
We have been incredibly surprised at how good a big brother Luca is turning out to be. Some of the cute things about Luca as a big brother:
When Nico is crying:
- will often bring him his bunny and say "want to share bunny with baby Nico."
- will often offer up advice or his own theories about why Nico is upset, including "he doesn't want to sit in the car seat", "he is scared", "he doesn't want mommy, he wants daddy" and "he doesn't want to lie down anymore" and "he doesn't want to wear that shirt"
- will say in Chinese "Dont cry little brother. Let's take it slow, don't worry" (taught to him by his Auntie Joanne)
- will stop what he is doing and rush over to Nico to make sure he is okay
- will say "Baby Nico is very Loud" but is surprisingly calm, especially when Nico is wailing in the car for more than 10 minutes.

other cute things:
-When Nico stops crying, he will say "Baby Nico is better now."
- his observation a few days ago when I was nursing: "Baby Nico is eating mommy's nipple."
- Never gets jealous when mommy is holding Nico, but can be very jealous when daddy is playing with baby Nico. I observed the following scene the other day when Agnish was holding Nico:
Luca to daddy: "Baby Nico doesn't want you to hold him. Baby Nico wants mommy."
Daddy: "I'm holding baby Nico now."
Luca: "I want mommy to hold Baby Nico."
Daddy ignores...
Luca, after a few minutes. "I miss you daddy."
(to which agnish and I both relented and I held baby Nico so daddy and Luca could have a good snuggle)
- began spontaneously kissing and snuggling baby Nico when Nico was about 6 weeks old. now he snuggles and kisses him several times a day, with no prodding from us. yay!
- Is also very obsessed with Nico's binky, and often asks Nico to spit it out so that he can play with it. Surprisingly, Nico often obliges! Luca also loves to put the binky in Nico's mouth.
- LOVES it when Nico spits up, sneezes or yells. Often will sit in front of Nico and say "want baby Nico to throw up!". Again, Nico obliges more often than we'd like.

LUCA
..is turning into a big boy in front of our eyes. Agnish and I have been in "savoring" mode, as he is in a very good stage right now, generally very agreeable, funny and with not too many temper tantrums. We know that these phases are short lived in toddlerdom, so we're trying to take advantage of it when we can.
...started to do full days at school this week, including napping at school. Again, the transition has been smoother than we expected! He fell asleep on the teacher after an hour the first day, and slept about 30 minutes, and slept 1.5 hours the next day. He loves napping with his special 'star blanket' at school.
...generally seems to be liking school quite a bit now. he will occasionally ask to go there now, and tells me that he likes it there. yay!
...is obsessed with springtime now. Right now one of his favorite things to do is to walk around the neighborhood and point out pretty flowers and leaves.
