Some Professional Photos of Luca

Luca has a friend Benjamin from his PEPS group; when we went to Benjamin's house, we fell in love with the pictures that his parents had of him---turns out that the pictures were taken by Benjamin's aunt Judith.
Last Saturday, when Luca was 99 days old, we went for an informal photo session.
If you want to see a sneak peek of the photos, click on Judith's blog below!
If you're interested in seeing the full set of photos and/or ordering any, drop me an email and I can send you the password protected site.

Luca's 100 Days Party

Luca turned 100 days old today - as part of a Chinese tradition, we invited some friends over to celebrate.

Some highlights:

Getting into the mood...

The last emperor...

Some of the other kids posed with Luca...

Luca was a little grumpy at first, but later came out to charm the ladies...

Luca is wearing a necklace made out of cookies. Each guest took a cookie, made a wish, and told him not to drool. We hope he listens...

We ordered lots of Chinese food for the occasion. Here you can see Luca helping cut his cake...

More scenes from the party....

After the party, a well deserved rest...

3 Months Old + A Trip to SF

Here are some pics of Luca the week before he turned 3 months old:

Relaxing with Mommy

Getting ready to go out...

Enjoying a post dinner nap in his swing (Dadu Bhai, does this remind you of anyone?)...

Then we went for a trip back to California for Mommy's conference. We got to see Stanford so that Luca could see where it all started...he would never had existed if it hadn't been for the b-school's lax admission standards.

Here is Luca with his third "Grandma" - Mommy's advisor from grad school. We also got to play with Grandma's very cute daugther which was fun.

On Saturday we went to lunch and played with Auntie Greta and Uncle Eitan - they were the ones who bought Monkey for Luca, one of his favorite toys...

Then we went to dinner again with Auntie Johanna and Uncle Lance, but this time with all the kids. You can see Luca's future girlfriend on the right...

The next day we went to Dim Sum with the Fongs and Lees so that Luca could meet more of his family.

He loved to walk around with his Uncle Henry.

And fell in love with his Aunties Shana and Kirsti...

Later that day we went to Auntie Mibs and Uncle Milo's house for their son's 1 year birthday party (his birthday is on St. Patrick's day).

"Hey...wanna play?"
"This is pretty fun"...

Their older son was very sweet and brought Luca balloons to play with...

"I'm with the wrong Mommy!!!!!!"

Luca Weeks 10-11

Here are some highlights from the past two weeks:

Luca in his Eskimo jacket.

Hanging out at home...

Enjoying some time on his gymini with Monkey...

Luca's Uncle Lasse was in town from Connecticut. He was a very good host and showed his Uncle the sights...

With Mom and Dad...

Feeling coy...

Getting ready to go out for a walk...

Mom & Dad had a slightly traumatic time taking Luca to the doctor for his checkup and shots (3 of them)...see below. He was very brave...

...but was a bit unsure why his parents would allow this to happen...

The doctor told Luca he was already 14 pounds. See his chubbiness?

Luca was excited to also meet his Auntie Johanna and Uncle Lance for the first time. He is looking forward to meeting their young daughter soon, as he is quite the ladies man...

Week 9 Highlights

This week, Luca got to spend a few days with Thamma!
She loved to feed me, kiss me and hug me!

He is getting so big and wise:

And he had a nice visit with his friends, Margot and Tate (kids of Wendy and Scott, my colleague):

Played with a new Panda bear toy (thanks to the Ganguly's)

And a few shots just to show how big he is getting!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! The Year of the Rat has begun, which means that the reign of our little Golden Pig is over!

Highlights from Weeks 7-8

Mommy came home from a meeting at work one afternoon and found that Daddy had restyled Luca's hair into a mohawk! At first, he didn't seem happy about it:

Then he started to rock it out:

We call this one "Angry Youth":

We also started our PEPS group (support group for new parents in Seattle). Believe it or not, Luca is the youngest in the group (the girl in the brown dress also has his same birthday). Some of these babies are 3.5 months old already. Luca immediately made fast friends with another little boy, Ardashir. They spent the evening cooing and smiling at each other, and to our delight, started holding hands for the picture! So cute!

Luca also found his toes this week, and can spend hours watching them:

We also discovered that he LOVES to take baths with mom and dad:

And dad loves to see his cute little nudey butt!

Hope everyone has a wonderful year of the Rat!
