"bay NEE"

Another quick post to immortalize a lovely phenomenon between brothers...


Luca came up with his very own nickname for Nico, which is "bay NEE". For example:


"bay NEE is going to cry!"
"bay NEE doesn't want mommy to hold him"
"mommy has to feed bay NEE real quick"





Luca also copies our calling his brother "Nicoweendo" and mostly calls him "Baby Nico" but the shortened version cracks us up (and him too). he will correct you from saying "baby Nico" to let you know that he wants to use the shortened version.

Remlinger Farms

One of the fun things we did when Chloe was visiting was to take them out to Remlinger Farms, which I highly recommend for the toddler age. The little rides were great.



Perhaps the funniest was when they went onto the baby Ferris Wheel together. They both clutched at the cages and were very scared and about halfway through, Luca started yelling "Luca doesn't like this!!!"



Here's the poor teenaged ride operator who had to deal with a very concerned grandma who told him to stop the ride early so her precious babes could get out.











The end of the hay maze, basically a huge swimming pool full of hay. Funniest part about this was how surprised Kevin was each time he spent several minutes picking hay out of Chloe's hair, only to have her jump back in and put hay all over herself again.

Fun and Adventures with Benjamin

Despite his inner snob and shy nature, one person that Luca is always very excited to see is his pal Benjamin. Maybe because they are always doing such fun things together:

Locavore

We've started enjoying some of the vegetables growing in our own backyard. Luca has been very helpful, watering the plants with Daddy and helping with the harvest. We've actually had more than we can eat (e.g. last week we had 6 heads of lettuce mature at the same time)...I need to do better planning next year and also be a little less lazy about cooking.

Here's a small sample of what's growing:

Sugar snap peas (incredibly sweet, so much better than the mealy peas from the grocery store)

A variety of lettuces, plus onions, chives and garlic

Some bok choy and broccoli

Broccolini - these have since become incredibly overgrown

Luca helped harvest the broccolini in his red pail

...is the projected adult height for Luca, based on the very common wives tale that you can predict your son's adult height by doubling his height on exactly his 2.5 birthday (for daughters it is on the 2nd birthday, supposedly).

I know we are very behind on posts but that is because we are very very busy! Lots of fun, photogenic things have been happening, including trips on ferries, to the farm, playing around with Chloe jeh-jeh, first snuggles between Luca and Nico caught on camera, Nico's 100 days party, and a trip to New York City.

But until Agnish or I can get out from under loads of work, you'll just have to be satisfied with Luca's adult height!

Here is Nico hanging out with Amelia, his friend who is an older lady (~6 months).

You can see that both my boys are quite the ladies men, though it appears that both dates basically end with the girl crying (hope this is not a pattern!)
